From September 2023 our school catering services have been provided by Midshire Catering (operating as Diners Republic).
Each year, the government brings out new recommendations and guidelines for all school kitchens to follow.
All of our food offers are school food compliant, and we use the Saffron Nutritional analysis to ensure our menus and dishes comply both with food legislation and the school food plan.
Special Diets will be catered for as part of our daily service with medical records requested to support any requests.
Our service includes a free breakfast club, with a choice of hot and cold items, as well as hot and cold drinks for our early risers!
We also have a a selection of food offers available at breaktime (priced from 70p to £1.90).
We will be introducing a host of new dishes and services to the school, with more variety of meal deals @ £2.50 to include a main dish, dessert and drink, with flexible portion sizes offers to suit all appetites.

Paying for school meals: Arbor & Arbor pay
Parents/ carers should download the Arbor App to their mobile phone or sign into the Arbor online Parent portal, where payments can be made, hopefully making it easy for you to monitor your child’s spending and budget for school meals.

If your child is not already eligible for Free School Meals, have your circumstances changed recently?
Are you now receiving any of the benefits below?
- Universal Credit with a household income of less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
- Income-Based Jobseekers’ Allowance
- Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance
- Child Tax Credit, not entitled to Working Tax Credit and household income less than £16,190
- Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
- Income Support
- Working Tax Credit ‘run on’ – the payment you receive for a further four weeks after you finish work

It only takes a few minutes and you could be entitled to free school meals for your child until they leave Rhyddings in Year 11, this also includes access to the government’s Holiday Activity and Food Programmes.
We want to make sure that we are providing your child with the best education and support we can. Healthy school food has obvious health benefits and can help pupils establish healthy habits for life. Healthy school food can also help to improve pupils’ readiness to learn.
